Gonzalo Gerardo Higuaín ; born 10 December 1987 is an Argentine professional footballer. He was born in France, attaining Argentine citizenship in 2007, and now holding dual nationality. His nick name from an early age was 'higs' or 'higgins'. He currently plays as a striker for Real Madrid and the Argentine national team. He is the son of former footballer Jorge Higuaín, and the younger brother of footballer Federico Higuaín.
The announcement comes just a couple of days after coach Jose Mourinho said that the player needed an operation.Higuain was concerned about his problem last year and in the first week of December Madrid "consulted with several experts on spinal column pathologies".
